About Copperfield

Copperfield has a voluntary community association with a rentable hall. The association explicitly distinguishes the neighbourhood from HOA/RA communities and from Mahogany's lake membership.

Community gatherings and lake access

Association-published

Copperfield Community Hall at 6 Copperstone Way SE offers space for celebrations and other booked gatherings. Both members and non-members can request rentals; joining the association does not reserve a room or provide unrestricted building access.

The main floor and basement are separately priced. The basement has no tables or chairs and is described as suitable for fitness-style activities. Confirm the room, capacity, equipment and current contract before organizing an event. A booking request requires confirmation, and payment is required before facility access.

Copperfield Community Association explicitly says it does not operate Mahogany Lake. Living in Copperfield or buying a CCA membership does not establish a right to use that neighbouring private amenity. Check the operator and access rules for each facility you plan to use.

Schools & enrollment

Copperfield School and address-based enrolment

Government-published

2026–2027 school year

Copperfield School publishes kindergarten and Grade 1–5 information for the 2026–2027 school year. Its Grade 1–5 lunch-supervision program runs Monday through Thursday and requires online registration; families supply the lunch.

Use CBE's address lookup for the child's grade and program when researching a home, including the next school after elementary grades. The school explains that an attendance area determines designation, while a walk zone concerns walking distance. A nearby school, a neighbourhood name or a listing's school list does not settle both questions.

Confirm current admission and transportation arrangements with CBE before relying on them. This page does not verify an individual address's placement, current space, Catholic-school designation or alternative-program admission.

Planning & change

A local voice in community planning

Association-published

CCA describes a volunteer-led role in neighbourhood activities and civic matters. Its published explanation says community associations receive development, transportation and zoning plans and may give feedback, alongside contact with elected representatives and other public officials.

For a nearby proposal, ask CCA about local discussions and review the City's application record for the actual proposal and decision. Community-association involvement is not itself development approval or evidence that an individual property's restrictions have changed.
