Housing & households

Detached homes, attached homes and apartments

Historical

2021 Census — historical housing mix

The City’s 2021 Census profile recorded 45% detached houses, 22% semi-detached houses, 13% row houses, 4% apartments or flats in duplexes and 16% apartments in buildings under five storeys. These are rounded census categories, not a current count of homes for sale.

Building form does not determine legal ownership or HOA eligibility. A row house or apartment may have separate condominium obligations; check the title, condominium documents and HOA account for the actual property.

Development history

A community shaped by recent construction

Historical

Homes occupied at the 2021 Census

In the City’s profile, 94% of occupied private dwellings were reported as built from 2016 through 2021. This describes the housing stock captured at that census, not the construction date of every home or the share completed today.

For a resale, obtain the home’s own construction, permit and warranty records. For a new build, compare the contract and occupancy approvals with the neighbourhood’s future plans.

Getting around

Check the bus trip from the actual front door

Historical

December 2023 network change; verify current service

The December 2023 northeast transit review included Cornerstone on the realigned route 128 and introduced route 136 for Corner Meadows and Cornerbrook. It also described possible future extension as development progressed.

Check today’s stop, timetable and transfers for the exact address. That review is a historical network announcement, not a current service guarantee.

Schools & enrollment

School projects are separate from current school assignment

Government-published

CBE’s current project directory lists Cornerstone elementary, middle and high school projects. A project listing or reserved school site is not confirmation that a school is open, or that a particular household will attend it.

Confirm the current designated school, program, grade configuration, transportation and intended school year with the relevant school authority. This page has not verified an address-specific assignment or an opening date.

Parks & recreation

The regional park opened in phases

Secondary source

First phase reported open October 2024

Anthem’s October 18, 2024 report identifies the first of three planned regional park areas at the end of 128th Avenue. It lists a hockey rink, basketball court, playground, fitness nodes and gathering areas, and records an October 15 opening celebration.

The report described the remaining areas as future development. Confirm later phase openings and current facility conditions with the City; do not treat the whole park concept as completed or infer private HOA access from a neighbourhood amenity.
